Greetings, Pokémon fans!
The holidays are almost here and we're counting down the days until Santa arrives. But that's not all we have to look forward to - 2023 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Pokémon collectors, with lots of exciting announcements on the horizon. It's been a wild ride for Pokémon collecting in 2022, but we're ready to embrace all the sets that the new year has to offer.

The most valuable cards from 2022 might surprise you
2022 saw hundreds of new cards released—we got three sets from Sword & Shield, even a Happy Meal collab with McDonald's. Of all those cards, 8 stood out when it came to value with a few nearing $300 in their first year in circulation. Check to see if you took home some heat or need to add some cards to your wish list.
Pokemon card fans are losing it over the Crown Zenith VSTAR & Radiant reveals
The Pokemon Company officially revealed the cards included in the upcoming Crown Zenith release. This is an expansion of the Sword and Shield series and is a booster box set to release on January 20, 2023. The response from fans has been super positive with the Mewtwo VSTAR seeing a lot of love.
In case you missed it: Ash Ketchum's run ends after 25 years
Perpetually 10 years old, Ash Ketchum had a good run. For 25 years he was part of the Pokémon series attempting to become a Master. Upon the announcement, his mother Delia wasn't available for comment, but the voice of Ash took to Twitter to memorialize the 17 years she'd spent bringing the character to life.

For love of the game: Pokémon patents a system for tracking cards in competition
Pokémon just took "gotta catch 'em all" to "gotta track 'em all" levels finishing a new patent for tracking cards during gameplay. The tech uses RFID and is intended to improve the viewing experience of livestreams. No more guessing what cards a player holds. The robots know. And now you will too.
