Resolution #1: Catch them all

Hello there,

New Year new us. Six days in and we already knocked out all our resolutions none of which had anything to do with collecting less. Which is good because we would've failed. But who's watching.

Happy New Year and happy collecting from your friends at Mystery Poke Slabs.

Too Relatable: The Top 10 Things PokƩmon Collectors Do

Is this post old by internet standards? POSSIBLY. Call it a miss. But there aren't any misses on this list. Personally, a few stuck out for us.

#10: Fail to Decide On An Organizing SchemeOk, so right away. Arrow thru the heart. Bless the mess. It's bad. Or is it just that we have too many cards? It's not our fault. We're still looking for the right scheme. Or an adult. Which is supposed to be us but whatever.

#6: Admire Your CollectionAbout said mess—don't care. When we take a step back it's all worth it. We'll get that Dewey decimal system rockin one day.

#3: Trade Cards and Feel RemorseWe flip our cards from time to time to support our habit hobby. It's not enablement. It's about being responsible. But trading? That's like saying I love my dog but I might like yours more. You're always gonna look back at that pooch and wonder "Why does he look like a Machamp H15?".

Good list. 10/10.

Are VMAX, Full Arts, Or Secret Rares Worth The Most?

Screen Rant

Modern card investing can be difficult to navigate. The PokĆ©mon Company has flooded the market as popularity has surged. They printed over 9 billion cards in 2021 alone. And with the emphasis now being on hot hot singles, it's a lot to process. Some say it's about taking advantage of demand while others speculate it's about...cooling off the speculators. Either way, murky market. Thankfully, we're starting to see the data sooner on what cards are in high demand—like the most sought after card of 2022. The Lugia V from Silver Tempest

That brings us to what types of cards are proving to be most valuable. Is it full arts? Secret rares? Some patterns are starting to emerge.

Always Look for the Crimps: Fake Crown Zenith Packs Start Showing Up Online

via u/arvinkong on Reddit

We'd heard the horror stories of fake singles floating around on ebay. It's easy to get duped. Home printers are great now. And ebay sellers take the BEST pics.

But this is nuts. Reddit user u/arvinkong shared a Crown Zenith pack his wife purchased and things looked weird. Redditors were quick to point out that official packs are always straight cut, never crimped. These packs have started to show up online. Buyer beware.

Question of the Day
